Tallented and The Board of Trustees is seeking an inspirational and strategically minded Chief Executive Officer to lead their five-school Multi-Academy Trust through its next phase of growth and stabilization. As the accounting officer and the primary voice of the Trust, you will be responsible for the educational and financial health of our vibrant school communities across the Midlands. Your leadership will be defined by a commitment to social mobility and the belief that every child deserves a world-class education. You will work closely with Headteachers to foster a culture of collective responsibility, ensuring that while each school retains its unique identity, we operate with a shared "one trust" vision that prioritizes the needs of our diverse student population.
A critical priority for this appointment is the urgent and sustained improvement of student attendance across the MAT. We recognize that no educational intervention can succeed if children are not in the classroom; therefore, you will be expected to spearhead a robust, Trust-wide attendance strategy that addresses the root causes of persistent absence. This involves moving beyond traditional monitoring to implement innovative, community-focused engagement models that rebuild the bridge between home and school. You will oversee the deployment of centralized resources and family support teams to ensure that barriers to attendance, whether socio-economic, emotional, or health-related, are identified and dismantled with urgency and empathy.
Strategically, you will provide the high-level oversight necessary to ensure that attendance data is used as a live tool for intervention rather than a retrospective metric. You will challenge and support school leaders to create inclusive environments where every student feels a profound sense of belonging, directly correlating school culture with improved presence. By fostering strong partnerships with local authorities, social services, and Midlands-based community leaders, you will position the Trust as a regional leader in tackling the national attendance crisis. Your success will be measured by a tangible upward trend in attendance figures and a significant reduction in persistent absenteeism across all five phases of the Trust.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced executive leader with a proven track record of managing complex educational organizations and delivering measurable school improvement. You must possess the diplomatic skill to navigate the shifting political landscape of the Midlands’ educational sector while maintaining a relentless focus on the Trust’s internal standards. We are looking for a CEO who leads with integrity, transparency, and a deep-seated passion for transforming life chances. In return, we offer the opportunity to lead a dedicated workforce and a cohort of students who are ready to excel, supported by a Board that is committed to your professional growth and the long-term success of the Trust.
