Tallented is currently working with a dedicated Board of Trustees to appoint a Chief Executive Officer for an ambitious and collaborative Multi-Academy Trust based in the North East of England, currently comprising five schools.
Our Trust is a close-knit family of five schools, proudly serving our local communities across the North East. We bring together a mix of primary and secondary provisions, dedicated to raising aspirations and outcomes for the pupils in our care. While we are currently an established group of five, we have a clear strategic vision for sustainable, carefully managed growth and welcome conversations with aligned schools who share our inclusive, community-focused ethos.
At the heart of our vision is a relentless commitment to educational excellence and social mobility. We believe in providing our schools with the highest level of academic rigour, alongside robust pastoral care, ensuring they meet the distinct needs of their unique local communities. Our schools are inclusive environments where children and young people are empowered to develop intellectually, socially, culturally, and personally.
The Trust is seeking a visionary and strategic leader to guide us through our next phase of development. Working closely with a committed Board of Trustees, a dedicated central team, and talented school leaders, the incoming CEO will shape and execute the Trust’s strategic plan. As the designated Accounting Officer, they will ensure robust financial health and operational efficiency, while fostering a culture of continuous school improvement, staff development, and cross-trust collaboration.
The appointed candidate will be an exceptional system leader with high levels of personal integrity. We are looking for someone who meets the following criteria:
- Proven Track Record: Experience in a senior, strategic educational role—ideally as an existing CEO, Executive Headteacher, or highly experienced Headteacher within a MAT environment.
- School Improvement: Deep, demonstrable expertise in driving school improvement, raising standards, and sustaining high-quality educational provision across multiple sites.
- Financial & Operational Acumen: A strong grasp of MAT finances, business planning, and resource management, with the capability to confidently assume the role of Accounting Officer.
- Strategic Growth & Governance: Experience working effectively with a Board of Trustees and possessing the commercial and strategic foresight to secure long-term stability and manage future growth.
- Exceptional Communication: Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the empathy and emotional intelligence to build strong, cohesive relationships with Headteachers, staff, local governing bodies, and external stakeholders (including the DfE and Regional Directors).
The Trust’s central operations are based in the North East, and the CEO will be expected to maintain a highly visible, supportive presence by regularly visiting all five of our schools. The successful candidate will need to live, or be prepared to relocate to, within a reasonable commuting distance of the Trust's region.

Why don't you post jobs for clients?
Apart from the obvious, (that we're not actively seeking work, but when we do...) we want to be able to provide clients an instant shortlist with people we have already met and qualified. Hence us focusing on building our our database at the moment
